LOCATION
Château Chevreuil is located in the Loire-Atlantique region of France, right on the border with the department of the Vendée.
We are approximately 4 hours from Paris by car and 2h30 by train and a short 30min drive from Nantes Atlantique International airport, which flies to a range of European cities.
TRAIN
The closest train station to our property is the Machecoul-St.Même Train Station, which is 5 minutes away. We recommend taking the train to Nantes Train Station if you need to rent a car. Major car rental companies can be found at the Nantes train station. You can book train tickets here.
From Paris: There is a direct train from Gare Montparnasse which is only a 2h35min trip.
PLANE
Nantes Atlantique (NTE): Our closest regional airport.
We are 35 minutes away. There are car rental companies at the airport.
For those coming from the USA, you can avoid Paris by flying to Dublin (DUB) or Zurich (ZRH): Transfer to NTE.
CAR
Paris: 4 hours and 20 minutes
Nantes: 40 minutes
Rennes: 1 hour and 45 minutes
FERRY (From Ireland or the United Kingdom)
There are many routes and companies you can use to cross into France, the main one from the UK is Brittany Ferries. They also cross from Ireland. For daily ferries from Ireland, you can check Irish Ferries.
Once you arrive into France, we are only a short drive from most of the ferry ports:
Roscoff: 3 hours and 45 minutes
Saint Malo: 2 hours and 30 minutes
Cherbourg 4 hours and 10 minutes
Caen: 3 hours and 30 minutes
SHUTTLE
If you are coming from the UK and want to avoid taking a boat, you can cross on the LeShuttle from Folkestone to Calais. There are shuttles every hour and the journey lasts 35 minutes.
Calais: 6 hours and 15 minutes
PETS
We are a dog-friendly venue and your four legged friends are welcome. Travelling to France from the UK and Ireland requires:
EU Passport or Animal Health Certificate (AHC)
Microchip
Rabies vaccination
Upon returning to the UK and/or Ireland, a veterinary health check and a tapeworm tablet (under vet supervision) is required. This must be completed no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours from arrival time and date to the UK & Ireland.
